This set was put together just last year so it isn’t a complete throwback, but it is old enough for me to post it as one. Simon Patterson has a very pronounced style which is comprised of two things: a melodic body which lies between some hard hitting beats. His sets don’t stray far from this style as they also follow the similar style. I like this particular set because it contains a lot of his newer stuff such as Taxi and New Life, and the second half of the mix is straight up pounding energy. Other hits from the end of last year include Gareth’s remix of Sunrise at Palamos, Ashley, and Verano. This mix also contains great stuff by John O’ Callaghan, Guiseppe Ottaviani, and Nick Sentience, all of who produce similar hard hitting songs. I realize that a lot of his stuff is starting to sound the same, but I actually take comfort in that because all of his songs are made in good taste. Besides, why would you change a formula that works so well?
