Here are a handful of songs to start the new year off right. Actually some of them came out in 2009, but I haven’t had much time to put them into any mixes so I will post them up here. I have included a few remixes of some vocal tracks, a few of which are old school rock songs that I find pretty interesting. I hope everyone had a great new year’s and check back soon for some new mixes in the next few weeks!
Sander van Doorn – Renegade (Club Edit)
This is the official anthem for Trance Energy 2010. Speaking of which, have y’all seen the lineup for this event? Freaking CRAZY! Check out trance.nu for a complete event preview. The lineup seriously makes my ears drool…
TyDi – Good Dream (Barnes & Heatcliff Remix)
Here’s another great piece of remix work by B&H. I could seriously get used to these three artists working together for a while.
Talla 2XLC – Terra Australis feat. Skysurfer (Jorn van Deynhoven Remix)
This is a great example of some beautiful progressive trance. Jorn van Deynhoven had a great year in 2009, and this track fails to dissapoint. It’s not as sick as his RAMsterdam remix, but definitely shows what he can do production-wise.
Jes – Love Song (Cosmic Gate Remix)
I first heard this track on an ASOT a few months ago. Jes gives us her great interpretation of the often-covered cult classic by The Cure. Cosmic Gate adds their signature bassline on the remix.
Jes – Love Song (Daniel Wanrooy & Mark Green Remix)
Here is another interpretation of the Jes cover. Daniel Wanrooy and Mark Green have been around for a while, leaving their mark on Tiesto’s Magik Music label. They have been producing and DJing under the radar for a while, mainly keeping their popularity within the Dutch borders. Mark Green is actually the A&R manager for Black Hole, and Daniel Wanrooy has recently started to break out with a few popular productions. Good job on the remix by these two.
Everything But the Girl – Missing (Greg Downey Remix)
Pretty interesting remix from Greg Downey. I haven’t heard much new material from him, but this song definitely caught my attention. This 1994 classic by Everything But the Girl received the first dance-remix by Todd Terry, and the song blew up from there. Greg Downey gives us his version of the song on this remix. As you may notice, this song was ripped from an episode of TATW, so the quality isn’t 320kbps.
Linkin Park – New Divide (Heatbeat Bootleg)
Here is a bootleg from Argentine producers Heatbeat. I used to be a big fan of Linkin Park back in the day, so this song brings back a lot of memories for me. This is one of their newer tracks, and I believed it was released on the Transformers soundtrack. Commercialized? Yes it is, but not a bad job on the bootleg.
JOOP – One (Original Mix)
Dutch tech-trance sensation JOOP has released this new single on High Contrast Recordings. It has been awhile since his 2007 hit The Future, but he continues his hard techy style with his new song.
Andain – Beautiful Things (Roger Shah 2010 Remix)
To close out this post, here is a nice 2010 version of the classic by Andain. There have been countless remixes of this song, including a lot of recent ones which were just released. Roger Shah has been a busy man as of late, but his remix here proves he still has time to improve on some throwbacks.
